Reflecting on the Halloween weekend

So my busiest weekend of the year is winding down. It felt so good to be doing more proper, LOUD live shows.

Last night at Liar's Club was fucking excellent. It was a super tight gig and we absolutely nailed it in typical Creeps fashion. I remembered why we don't do the paper suits much though, man. I was so dehydrated by the end of the show, even just wearing the suits for three songs I feel like I exhausted SO much more energy just because it was so fucking hot on stage. I was boiling. However, we ripped through the set and I was so glad we were first. It was an easy night!

I loved the acoustic gig Vanity Contest did in August but man, being at an actual venue was a breath of fresh air. I felt so much more in my element. The visuals, the whole vibe we were going for was a lot more along the lines of what we're about. We debuted some new material from [REDACTED], and even played Eyes Open for the first time (glad we didn't at the acoustic gig). People were super receptive and super cool about it, the crowd was great. We got on stage, shot the shit, got off stage. Such great chemistry, and getting to hear the tracks in a loud setting were a big help. They sounded gargantuan. It was a great crowd, we knew a good chunk of the crowd and my coworkers were into what we were doing. I was also dehydrated during this gig though, but not as bad. I'm definitely glad we dropped How Did We Get Here? from the set, if we'd kept it in I wouldn't have been able to get Colti down at ALL, and that one mattered more to get down than HDWGH. I wish we didn't drop it but man, my voice would've been extra shot if we kept it.

Something really stuck out to me that night though, I heard one word thrown around a lot about our set: "beautiful." This meant a lot to me, I've never heard that thrown around about our music EVER before so it was really touching to hear that from some pretty awesome people. I was especially pleased we debuted Colti, it's been the track Elijah and I have been completely obsessing over and for people to be that into it has me over the moon for when we finally release LP2. We had a great turnout, just about everything with the show went without a single hitch. I was surprised the show did so well considering how competitive that night was. Everybody got paid, we sold some merch, we kicked ass. That's the Vanity Contest way motherfuckers!

Anyhoo. I got some album recommendations coming up at some point next week. Thanks again to those that came out, thanks to the bands and staff. Love y'all.
